Kylee Nicole Korber, a 16-year-old from Ruffs Dale, Pennsylvania, is being remembered by family, friends, classmates and members of the wider community following her unexpected death on March 21, 2026. Kylee was born June 4, 2009, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and was known to those around her as a vibrant, energetic and fun-loving young woman.
Kylee’s death came as part of a devastating single-vehicle crash in Sewickley Township that claimed the lives of four Yough High School students. The Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office identified Kylee, along with Brady D. Hunker, Rocco A. Zugai and Felicity M. Martini, as the four people who died in the March 21 collision. The crash was reported after a passing motorist encountered a vehicle engulfed in fire, and authorities said the cause and manner of death were initially pending further investigation, autopsy and toxicology results.
Kylee attended Yough Senior High School and was remembered for her lively personality and wide range of interests. She enjoyed swimming, riding her bike, bouncing on the trampoline, fishing and spending time outdoors. She also loved crafting, making slime and collecting rocks. Her affection for animals was another important part of her life, particularly her beloved pets, Chip and Piggy.
She also enjoyed hunting deer and turkey with her stepfather, Chad, and listening to both rap and country music. Friends and classmates remembered her as funny and happy. At a community vigil following the crash, one classmate described Kylee as someone who was “super-funny” and “just a really happy person,” while also recalling her love of hunting and her distinctive cowgirl boots. Kylee had already begun taking steps toward adulthood. Her obituary notes that she loved babysitting and had held jobs, including work as a cashier and previously as a dishwasher. Family members also remembered the everyday interests and adventures that brought her happiness, from spending time with friends to enjoying outdoor activities and family trips.
She is survived by her parents, Michael Korber and Nicole L. Hedrick, as well as her brothers, Jacob Korber and Kain Korber. Her surviving family also includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles. Kylee was preceded in death by her aunt, Kristin Korber, affectionately known as “Aunt Tin.”
Kylee’s passing deeply affected the Yough community, where students, friends and residents gathered to remember the four teenagers lost in the crash. More than 60 people attended a vigil at Primitive Methodist Church in Sutersville, with community members coming together to grieve and begin the difficult process of healing.
Friends and family gathered for visitation on March 26 at Beatty-Rich Funeral Home in Madison, Pennsylvania. A private funeral service followed on March 27, with interment remaining private.
Kylee Korber’s life was far too short, but those who knew her are left with memories of a young woman who loved her family, animals, friends and the outdoors. Her energetic personality, creativity, humor and adventurous spirit continue to be remembered by the people whose lives she touched.
For her family and friends, Kylee’s memory will endure through the countless moments that made her uniquely herself. As the community continues to mourn the loss of four young lives, Kylee’s loved ones are left to remember the daughter, sister, friend and classmate whose life ended at just 16 years old.
